Paver Patios in Nampa, ID

A paver patio is only as good as what is under it. We build on a compacted base so the surface stays level through Idaho freeze and thaw cycles, and we finish edges cleanly so the patio looks like part of the house.

Our paver patios process

  1. 1

    Plan the space

We measure, talk through size, shape and traffic, and help you pick a paver style and layout.

  2. 2

    Dig and build the base

We excavate to depth, then lay and compact a gravel base in layers. This step decides whether the patio stays flat for years.

  3. 3

    Set the pavers

Pavers go down over a leveled bedding layer, cut to fit the edges, with the slope set so water drains away from the house.

  4. 4

    Lock it in

Edge restraints and joint sand lock everything together. We sweep, clean up and walk you through care.

Paver Patios FAQs

Why pavers instead of poured concrete?

Pavers are individual units, so they handle ground movement without cracking across the whole surface, and individual pavers can be replaced. Concrete costs less up front for plain slabs. We build both and can help you compare.

How long will a paver patio last?

With a properly compacted base it can last for decades. Most problems we see on older patios trace back to a thin or poorly compacted base, not the pavers themselves.

Will pavers settle or shift over winter?

A base built in compacted layers resists settling, and edge restraints hold the field in place. Skipping those steps is what leads to dips and shifting.

Can you extend an existing patio?

Often yes. We can extend with pavers or concrete depending on what you have. One customer had us extend their patio as part of a larger backyard project.

Do I need a permit for a patio?

Most ground-level patios do not, but rules vary by city and HOA, especially with structures or drainage changes. We can point you in the right direction when we quote it.

How do I maintain a paver patio?

Sweep regularly, rinse off spills, pull weeds from the joints and top up joint sand every few years. That is about it.

Can you combine a patio with the rest of the yard?

Yes. Many customers pair a patio with landscape installation, a retaining wall or fencing so the whole backyard is finished at once.
