Our concrete process

  1. 1

    Measure and plan

We mark the footprint, check slope for drainage and agree on thickness and finish.

  2. 2

    Prep and form

We excavate, compact the base and set forms to the right height and slope so water runs away from the house.

  3. 3

    Pour and finish

Concrete is placed, leveled and finished by hand, with control joints cut to guide where cracks form.

  4. 4

    Cure and clean up

We tell you how long to keep it clear, pull the forms and clean the site.

Concrete FAQs

Can you extend my existing patio?

Yes. Patio extensions are one of the most common concrete jobs we do. We will talk through how the new section will meet the old one.

How long before I can use new concrete?

Foot traffic is usually fine after a day or two, but concrete keeps curing for weeks. Heavy loads like vehicles need longer. We will give you specific guidance for your pour.

Will my concrete crack?

Concrete can crack even when done right. Control joints, a compacted base and good curing reduce the odds and keep cracks neat and in the joints.

Concrete or pavers for my patio?

Concrete is usually the lower-cost option and gives a smooth, continuous surface. Pavers cost more but handle movement better and can be repaired in pieces. We build both.

Does weather affect scheduling?

Yes. Pouring in extreme heat or near freezing needs extra care, and rain can delay a pour. We will schedule around conditions to protect the result.

Do you do driveway work?

We do flatwork around the home, including walkways and extensions. Tell us what you have in mind when you call and we will say whether it fits.

What finishes are available?

A standard broom finish is the most common because it is safe underfoot. Ask us at the estimate about other finish and color options.
